Tier lists for a game this young age fast. This is a role-based starting point for the launch roster, not a competitive law — the meta will move with each balance patch, and a well-played "lower" Agent beats a mis-played "higher" one every time.
How to read it
We group Agents by role first, because a team needs a spread. Within each role we note who is beginner-friendly and who has a higher skill ceiling.
Defenders
- Chopper (A) — free, forgiving, and the best Defender to learn on. Toughens as he takes damage.
- Ember (A) — hazard-based zone control; higher-skill area denial for players who think in space.
Assault
- Raketa (S) — high firepower and tempo; strong once you know the maps.
- Reaper (S) — a death-defying brawler with a screen-clearing ultimate.
- Kent (A) — free, simple, snowballing; the ideal beginner Assault.
- Twister (A) — fast flanker and disruptor; rewards map knowledge.
Marksmen
- Hound (A) — free, safe, and teaches weak-point targeting.
- Fuzzer (A) — utility Marksman with a cleanse and a guided strike.
Bottom line
Start with the free trio (Chopper, Kent, Hound) to learn each role, then branch toward Raketa or Reaper if you want raw impact on Assault. Re-check the meta after each patch — this list is a snapshot as of the launch season.
