Name the job before fitting the ship
A loadout should answer a practical question: what are you planning to do with it? Routine NPC hunting, a group assignment and hostile travel do not put identical demands on a ship. Start with the activity you expect to repeat. If you cannot explain why an item helps that activity, leave the purchase open until the need is clearer.
Use configurations deliberately
The hangar documents separate ship configurations and equipment for the ship, drones and P.E.T. Review each area rather than assuming the first panel describes the entire build. Give the configurations different purposes where your equipment supports that choice. Before a difficult flight, check what actually changes between them and practise switching through your current client’s controls.
Read restrictions as carefully as bonuses
Ship upgrade modules have compatibility rules. Their description matters more than an isolated headline percentage, because a bonus that cannot be used on your intended ship does not improve that ship. Some documented modules also have level limits. Check the live tooltip and any current event conditions before using a limited resource to obtain one.
Compare complete setups
If you are considering a different hull, compare the resulting fitted ships rather than two empty silhouettes. Ask which equipment transfers, which slots remain empty and whether the new ability helps the encounters you actually play. Keep a short note of your present configuration so that experimenting has a clear baseline. Change one part at a time when practical; it makes the next decision easier to understand.
Make ammunition part of the plan
A route that looks attractive on paper still consumes supplies. Review whether the reward is worth your chosen ammunition and the time spent repairing or returning. We are not claiming a universal damage ranking here: the relevant combination depends on your account, target and activity. Consult the current equipment descriptions before adopting an old build screenshot.
