ABI vs Delta Force

Both are big-budget free-to-play shooters, but ABI is a dedicated hardcore extraction game while Delta Force is a two-in-one package where extraction (Operations/Hawk Ops) sits beside a Battlefield-style Warfare mode. Players choose between ABI's focused, gear-fear intensity and Delta Force's variety and arcade accessibility.

ABI vs Delta Force
AspectABIDelta ForceEdge
Realism & difficultyCommitted hardcore extraction with real gear-loss stakes and a slower, more tactical time-to-kill.Faster and more arcadey, with hero-style Operators and abilities that soften the milsim tension in its extraction mode.ABI
Gunplay, ballistics & armorDetailed armor durability, penetration classes and zoned damage that make loadout choices matter deeply.Slick, responsive gunplay tuned for accessibility, but with a lighter, less consequential armor/ballistics model in Operations.ABI
Maps & extractionPurpose-built extraction maps with a single, focused raid-and-escape loop.Solid extraction maps in Operations, plus large-scale Warfare maps, more content variety across two distinct modes.Delta Force
Economy & lootDeeper trader/marketplace/insurance economy where loot knowledge and stash management are central.A lighter extraction economy that serves as one mode among many rather than the whole game.ABI
Progression & wipesSeasonal wipes and extraction-focused progression aimed at long-term hardcore engagement.Broad battle-pass and unlock progression spanning both modes, friendlier to casual, on-and-off play.Tie
Monetisation (F2P vs buy-in)Free, but the intrusive in-game shop and paid storage tiers draw persistent pay-to-win criticism.Free with largely cosmetic monetization and a battle pass, generally seen as the less predatory F2P model.Delta Force
Performance & anti-cheatWell-optimized with kernel-level ACE anti-cheat and comparatively clean lobbies.Runs excellently across PC, console and mobile with a huge player base, though scale invites more cheater pressure.Tie

Free-to-play, but built on different bones

Arena Breakout: Infinite and Delta Force are the two big free-to-play extraction contenders, and they are frequently pitted head to head as "the accessible Tarkov alternatives." But Delta Force, from Tencent's TiMi Studios, is really two games in one box: a large-scale Havoc Warfare mode (think Battlefield-style objective warfare) and a separate Operations extraction mode inspired by the Tarkov formula. ABI, from sister studio MoreFun, does only extraction — and does it with a more hardcore, realism-forward attitude.

Gameplay & combat

ABI is the more simulation-minded of the two. Its ballistics, plate-based armor damage, weapon jamming and gunsmithing lean toward Tarkov-style depth, and its raids reward patience and gear knowledge. Delta Force's Operations mode is faster and more arcadey, with hero-style operators who bring class abilities — grappling hooks, recon drones, deployable gadgets — that push it away from pure milsim toward a livelier, more forgiving feel. If ABI is a survival sim, Delta Force's extraction is closer to a hero-shooter wearing extraction clothes.

  • ABI: single-focus extraction, higher realism ceiling, deeper gear economy, more punishing time-to-kill decisions.
  • Delta Force: two modes for the price of none, operator abilities, snappier pace, big cross-platform reach including consoles and mobile.

Content & endgame

Delta Force offers more variety out of the box thanks to Havoc Warfare — when you tire of extraction, you can jump into large-team combat, which no single ABI mode replicates. It also drew big attention for its cinematic Black Hawk Down-inspired campaign content. ABI counters with focus: a more cohesive extraction identity, tighter maps, and a community centered entirely on the loot-and-extract loop rather than split across modes.

Progression & monetisation

Both are free-to-play and both live under the same scrutiny — is the extraction economy fair, or does spending buy survivability? ABI has fielded persistent pay-to-win accusations around storage and account tiers. Delta Force has faced its own monetisation debate, though its dual-mode structure and cosmetic-forward battle passes give it a more familiar live-service shape. Neither has fully resolved player suspicion, and both are young enough that their economies could shift.

Which should you play?

Choose ABI if you want the more serious, realism-driven extraction experience with real gear tension and gunsmith depth. Choose Delta Force if you want breadth — an extraction mode plus full-scale warfare, hero abilities, and the widest platform support — with a lower skill floor. ABI is the connoisseur's pick within extraction; Delta Force is the crowd-pleaser that hedges its bets across two genres.

The verdict

Pick Delta Force if you want a free, fast, do-it-all shooter where extraction is a fun option next to big Warfare battles and cosmetic-only spending. Pick ABI if you specifically want a focused, hardcore extraction experience with real gear fear and a deeper economy, and can stomach its aggressive shop.
