Par Enlisted

Enlisted is Darkflow Software's free-to-play WWII squad-based tactical shooter, published by Gaijin Entertainment. Its defining idea is the squad: rather than controlling a lone soldier, you command a small group. You directly play one member while the others act as AI that follow your lead, and you can instantly switch to any surviving squadmate — or take control of a tank or an aircraft — as the battle demands. Bring several squads into a match and you swap between them each time you respawn. Battles play out across historical fronts — the Battle of Moscow, Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Berlin, Invasion of Normandy, Battle of Tunisia, the Pacific War and the Far Eastern Front — with infantry, armour and planes fighting on the same map for true combined arms. In December 2023 the game's "Merge" replaced its old per-campaign progression with unified per-nation research trees across four nations: the USA, Germany, the Soviet Union and Japan. Progress is earned in Silver (with an optional premium Gold currency), soldiers train from one to five stars with chosen perks, and a per-loadout Battle Rating drives matchmaking so early-war and late-war equipment stay apart. Relisted on Steam on 16 July 2024, Enlisted has grown through regular major updates and Battle Pass seasons into one of the more distinctive free WWII shooters on PC, with a "Mostly Positive" Steam reception.
