Enlisted throws a lot of systems at you at once. This guide gets you into good battles quickly and teaches the habits that matter most.

1. You command a squad, not a soldier

The core idea: you control a whole squad. You play one member directly while the rest follow as AI. When your soldier dies, you take over the next surviving squadmate rather than instantly respawning, so a squad is effectively several lives. You can also switch to any member on purpose — and into a tank or plane if the squad has one.

2. Pick a beginner-friendly front

Fronts are the historical battle settings. Moscow is the classic first choice: early-war, low Battle Rating, simple weapons and forgiving matchmaking. Berlin is also recommended for its plentiful, powerful automatic weapons. Whichever you choose, focus on one front and nation at first.

3. Build rally points with an Engineer

The single highest-impact habit for a new player is to level an Engineer squad and build rally points. A rally point lets your team spawn closer to the objective, so it constantly helps your side and earns you steady progression. Engineers can also build ammo crates, cannons and cover.

4. Bring multiple squads

You take several squads into a match and choose which to deploy each time you respawn. Mix them up — riflemen to hold ground, an assault squad for close fights, an engineer for utility, and a tank or plane squad once you have one. Rotating squads keeps you effective as the battle changes.

5. Understand Battle Rating

Matchmaking uses a Battle Rating (BR) based on how strong your equipment is, which also decides the maps you get. Sticking to lower BR early keeps the weapons simpler and the opposition fairer while you learn.
