Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play Super Hero Team-Based PvP Shooter developed and published by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games. Matches are built around 6v6 objective combat in third person. Vanguards absorb pressure and open space, Duelists secure eliminations, and Strategists provide healing, utility and fight-saving ultimates. Its two clearest differentiators are Team-Up abilities and destructible environments. Certain hero combinations unlock extra moves or passive bonuses, so composition is more than a role checklist, while walls, cover and map pieces can break during fights and change how a lane plays. Since launch on 5 December 2024, the game has grown through seasonal hero drops, new maps, events, battle passes and balance patches. Season 10: Butcher's Blasphemy began on 11 September 2026 with Gorr the God Butcher, The Godbomb battle pass, Scarlet Witch changes and a new roadmap leading into The God Quarry map on 25 September and Season 10.5 on 9 October.
